How our maps are developed
Developed in-house on our MAHA MSR 500 dyno
Every Self Tune file, like all of our ECU remaps, is developed and extensively tested in-house on our MAHA MSR 500 dyno.
Our focus isn’t simply on achieving the highest possible power figures. We carefully balance performance, reliability and drivability to ensure every calibration delivers strong, smooth and usable gains while keeping the engine operating safely within sensible limits.
Wherever possible, we also aim to retain the vehicle’s original OEM driving characteristics, so the car still feels natural and refined to drive — just with improved performance where it matters.
The result is a remap that performs better in the real world, not just on a dyno graph.

Do I need any experience?
No. If you can plug a lead in and use a phone app, you can do it. Each kit comes with step-by-step instructions, and our team is on WhatsApp if you get stuck at any point.
Is it the same software as a workshop remap?
Yes. Your file is written by us, using the same maps we develop on our MAHA MSR 500 dyno at Mallory Park. The only difference is that you install it on your driveway instead of in our workshop.
Will it work on my car?
Coverage depends on the make, engine and ECU. Use the checker on this page or send us your registration and we'll confirm before you pay. If the AutoTuner One can't do your car, we can usually remap it at the workshop or with our ECU Solutions mobile service.
Can I go back to standard?
Yes. Your original file is read and kept safe before anything is changed, so you can put the car back to stock whenever you want.
Does it affect emissions or the MOT?
No. Our software keeps your emissions systems (DPF, EGR, AdBlue/SCR) fully working, so the car stays road legal and MOT ready.
Do I need to tell my insurer?
Yes. A remap is a modification, so let your insurer know. Most are happy to cover remapped cars, sometimes for a small extra premium.
I've already got the Stage 1 kit. Can I upgrade to Stage 2?
Yes. Customers who already have our Stage 1 kit get a discounted rate on Stage 2 software. Get in touch and we'll quote for your car.
Can I add more software later?
Yes. Once you have the tool, extra software such as an Eco or gearbox file starts from £50.
